The exercise method known as Zen-Stretching® has been conceived in the «Vaso di Pandora» Association in 1990, after some years of study and practice with Shizuto Masunaga’s «Zen Imagery Exercises», as our original interpretation and enhancement of that most valuable proposal.Zen-Stretching® is together a reading and an interpretation of the movement based on criteria that find their roots in some very ancient oriental training practices and healing techniques. The expert people will recognize in many movements an analogy with some Qi Gong or Yoga exercises, even if with some proper adjustment in order to second the specific goal of these exercises according to the energetic pathways of the shiatsu tradition.
Anyone who want to experiment this training method will be able to do it easily, without any need to know the theory on which it is based. According to our experience, both the «experts» (scholars or practictioners of acupuncture – yoga – qi gong – shiatsu), and amateurs can equally benefit from this type of bodywork. Of course you will need to have a certain attention to yourself, the wish to learn how to improve your own ability to use your body and the gentleness that can suggest whenever you can insist on a certain practice or stop for a while and wait for a greater flexibility or sensitiveness.
